In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
and Peace and Blessings on His Beloved Muhammad Mustafa
and his honorable family

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmut-Allahi wa Barakatahu,
We hope you are all in the best of health and Iman. The Board of Trustees of the Muslim Community School/ Alim Academy (MCS/AA) is very pleased to announce that Sr. Mais Alraee has been appointed our Vice Principal. As you are aware, MCS/AA has a wide range of ages, each with their own educational, social, and legal considerations. Given this wide range, it is in the best interests of the students and the entire school community to appoint a Vice Principal to aid our Principal, Sr. Somayyah Nahidian.

Alhamdulillah, Sr. Mais’ qualification for Vice Principal are exceptional. She has a Masters degree in Teacher Leadership with an Emphasis on Mathematics from the University of Maryland in addition to being an IB certified math teacher. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with an undergrad major of Math Education, and has taught in the Chicago Public School System, and an IB system school before coming to MCS/AA.

In addition to her extensive professional qualifications, Sr. Mais has a personality that makes her very well suited to her new position. She is organized and professional as well as caring. She values direct communication and is open to new ideas or concerns. At MCS/AA she is currently teaching Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Geometry and AP Calculus. As she says, “I am currently the Yearbook advisor. I love teaching mathematics and I love working with my students.”

The Board of Trustees are grateful that Allah Ta’ala has sent the school Sr. Mais to, InshaAllah, continue to improve the school. Please pray for her health and success.

Sincerely
MCS/AA Board of Trustees

Dear Parents, AsSalaamu Alaikum
Welcome to the MSA/AA Family. We strongly believe that an Islamic education is one of the most important things you can give your child that will benefit him/her for a successful life in this earthly life and in the life of hereafter.

The Board of Trustees has been working long hours to enact changes in school policies and procedures which will Insha….. create more stability in the daily running of the school educational program and allow sufficient funding for financial needs to operate all school programs.

For your information, the changes are listed below; and although this information is being sent a little late, it is expected all parents will adhere to the new policies. If any of the policies create a dire hardship on the family, please forward your concerns to the BOT either directly or through the school office.

(1) No student may be registered if there is an outstanding balance due the school.
(a) Parents with an outstanding balance must arrange an acceptable payment plan or promissory note with the BOT. The school administration cannot arrange such plan.

(2) No more than one discount and school promotion in tuition can be combined for any family.

(3) The 20% and/or 30% sibling discount is applied to the lower tuition base amount(s).

(4) The monthly payment installment fee is $30 per payment.

(5) On credit card transactions, there is a 3% surcharge on the amount paid. The school is charged for processing credit card payments.

(6) On returned checks (NSF) there is a $35 charge to cover the bank’s service charge.

(7) For missing payment deadline, which is the 15th of the month, there is a $50 penalty charge unless dismissed by BOT with good reason.

(8) Tuition payments may be scheduled in (1) payment (paid in full); (2) payments (Beginning of school and middle of school year; 3 or 5 payments with a 20% of total advance payment at time of registration. Additional installments must have BOT advance approval.

(9) Post dated checks must accompany a pre-arranged tuition installment agreement with the BOT.

(10) Donations made by credit card will not have the 3% surcharge.

Please read these changes closely and select the most feasible payment plan for your family. Remember any other payment arrangement must be submitted and approved by the BOT and implemented by the school administration.

The first payment is due before the first day of school, August 26th; otherwise the $100 late penalty will be applied.

If you have any questions or concerns, please submit them by email to: principal@alimacademy.org.
