Quran Competition at MCS/AA Islamic School

Our school was very well represented this past weekend during the two-day DC MIST event held at UMD. MIST stands for Muslim Inter-Scholastic Tournament and consists of a variety of competitions Muslim high school students can compete in. This year’s theme was The Clarity of Sincerity: From Outer Percetions to Inner Reflections and submissions had to center around this concept. From MCS, we had competitors in Science, Islamic Knowledge, Bowl (general knowledge), Quran, Extemporaneous Essay (writing about a topic once it is given to you within a limited time frame), photography, fashion design, 2-D art and basketball. While we must wait to hear the final results this Saturday at the grand Awards Ceremony in the Lisner Auditorium at GWU, we received the reward for the Most Cordial School!
